Smalltaks 2007 @ BA
December 13th, 2007
Last Monday and Tuesday I attended Smalltalks 2007, a conference that took place at Universidad de Buenos Aires talking about Smalltalk in different aspects related with research, education and industry. I was very please to go to these talks and the great majority of them were extremely interesting but I would like to remark the ones that interested me the most:
- Traits aware refactoring: I learned about traits that seems a good thing and new refactors introduced (I love refactoring).
- Seaside, el framework hereje: A very good introduction to Seaside by Esteban Lorenzano.
- Smallfaces and Seaside Builder: The funniest talk ever.
- Software development: Even when I knew most of the contents getting them together was very usefull.
- Aplicaciones Sensibles al Contexto e Hypermedia Fisica: I was very interested in this subject because we are doing similar things.
- Reflection: A pretty good way to show students a way to understand a little more of why smalltalk is so powerful.
- Morphic 3.0: I was very happy to hear some mathematics in the conference and to know about this project and the kitchen where it's beeing cooked.
